Landowners
Every piece of land we farm has a story, and we are honored to be part of that land’s history. As farmers, we understand that we are caretakers for our leased ground and the owners have entrusted us with its care. We take that responsibility very seriously from the stewardship to the communication and personal interactions with each landowner. At Hopper Farms, our landowners also benefit from our on-farm grain storage capabilities and experiences with pivot and furrow irrigation systems. Our storage allows us flexibility to sell at the best price and not forced to sell when the price is low. Our landowners benefit from our family’s years of experience and years of passion for farming.
Stewardship
With four generations of farming experience, we understand how important taking care of the land is. Our focus is exceeding landowner expectations and exceptional stewardship of the land that we are entrusted with. Taking care of the land is how we ensure healthy soil and productive acres for years to come. By using buffer zones and filter strips and no-till farming practices, we can help prevent erosion caused by run-off, which protects streams but also keeps the productive topsoil in the field. In addition to erosion prevention, no-till practices help reduce soil compaction, letting water and the plant’s roots move through the soil. Hopper Farms is also involved with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) soil conservational program is also enrolled in the NRCS conservation stewardship program. Taking care of the soil is so important. Without the land, we wouldn’t be able to grow healthy crops year after year for generations to come. We aren’t just farmers, we are stewards and caretakers of every acre we farm.
